Digital Forensics | Davin Teo | TEDxHongKongSalon – YouTube
I value Davin Teo’s perspective on the journey that led him to where he is now. His path into his career is very similar to the path that I have currently been on in my academic career. I find it interesting that he started in accounting, but after hearing the words “digital” and “forensics” it quickly shifted his perspective. At first, I was engaged in the sports management industry and everything involving sports. I truly felt as if that was my niche and where I’d be working for the entirety of my career. Since I was young, I have both played and watched sports all day every day. It just seemed natural that I would be working in the industry at some point. After the first semester of my sophomore year, I ended up connecting with my uncle who works as a data center/cloud computing engineer. After hearing the name of his position and seeing what he does daily, I quickly realized that I wanted to work in the IT field as well. I switched my major to cybersecurity and haven’t looked back since. So far, I have made countless connections and obtained plenty of knowledge in my time as a cybersecurity major. Although I’m not working in the sports field directly, I am hopeful that I can eventually land an IT position in the NFL or NBA.
