Describe four ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals

When it comes to storing data on users, there are four ethical dilemmas that arise. The first of which is the concept of privacy. Users and customers trust that their information is being collected and stored in a secure manner and that their information is being kept confidential. The next dilemma concerns accuracy. Users and customers trust the company or other entity to keep their information up to date and reflect correct data. The dilemma concerning ownership of data is a major one these days. Users and customers should know who truly owns their data and what that entity will do with that information. Finally, accessibility is a dilemma. This concept involves the questions of who should have access to our data and if one should have to pay a fee to access the information. These concepts also represent the elements of the information security triad: confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country

The United States of America suffers from both different and similar cyber security threats than another nation such as Iran. Some of the top threats the United States faces today include other governments, terrorists, and industrial or organized criminal spies. It has been said that governments such as Russia have worked with hackers in the past to exploit U.S. government systems. These were precise, swift attacks that would have required a lot of expertise and funding to pull off. These attacks are on a large scale. On a smaller scale, citizens in the United States still deal with common attacks like phishing, viruses, and trojans containing malware. Iran is similar in this regard. However, their countries’ cyber security is vastly inferior to that of the United States. Iran is one of the lowest ranking countries for cyber security and has had government systems breached frequently. In contrast, the United States has a somewhat average level of cyber security. Countries like Norway and Sweden rank among the highest levels of cyber security.
