One major activity I that I participated in, that exposed me to the Spanish culture, was that I went to a missions conference in 2018 called Urbana. In this conference many people from various regions of the world attended, and I did the Global Perspective track. In this track, I got to know more about different cultures, and this also included the Spanish culture. We sang various songs in Spanish, we ate various traditional foods that are eaten in Spanish-speaking countries, and learned basic greetings in Spanish. During the conference, I met a girl who’s ethnicity was Chinese but she was raised in Honduras. Her name was Alejandra, and she shared how being raised between three cultures affected her greatly growing up. This conference was an effective way to bring everyone from different parts of the world together.
However, I do want to visit Spanish speaking countries such as El Salvador and Costa Rica to know more about the different regions, cultures, and attractions.
