Top Artifact (3-6)

Module 3 was my favorite artifact. I liked this one because it was the most fun to do so far. It was engaging for both myself and the people I asked. I learned that people can have the same views on a topic but still have different reasons on why they feel that way.

This expanded my knowledge on a topic that I never really thought about until then. It actually made me sit back and reflect on my personal life and how I perceive things. My “visual” artifact was about protons and electrons being opposites but still attracting. I had just finished my chemistry homework prior to this assignment which is what made me choose it.

Opposites attract

Social psychologists have found in their research that there seems to be wisdom in the old saying, “Opposites attract.”

Compare your subjects’ ratings and examine whether both of these conflicting statements are rated to be true

Doing this little experiment was interesting because everyone I asked believed in whichever side of the argument I gave. For example, my roommates and I believe that people with similarities attract easier but my friends believed that opposites attract easier. After hearing both sides, I think both arguments can coexist.

Visual artifact idea:

Protons and electrons are opposite but they still attract each other. Protons are positive and electrons are negative but they still work together to make the atom neutral.
