I am doing well because I am keeping up with my work and studying for tests and quizzes. I also attend every class and pay attention.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What classes did you identify as needing assistance in?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I think I need more assistance in my history class because I am having trouble keeping up with and memorizing the material.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What changes have you made (i.e. amount of time, location, campus resources, study strategies, etc\u2026)?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I have put more time into studying and completing assignments for this class and started making more flashcards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transition to College<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What expectations did you have coming to college?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I expected to have fun, make new friends, and learn new things.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Have those expectations come to fruition, or not?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, my expectations have come to fruition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>How?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I am continually learning in all of my classes and finding topics interesting. I am meeting new people and making friends in my classes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>In what way is your college experience different from what you expected?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although I knew I would have homework for all of my classes, I had more than I expected. I am also having to put more time into studying than expected.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>What has surprised you about your experiences so far this semester?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I am surprised that all of my professors care for each student and try to help us in any way they can.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><em>If you live on campus:<\/em> What has been your toughest challenge with moving away to college? Easiest challenge to overcome?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>OR &nbsp;<em>If you commute to class:<\/em> What is the toughest challenge with commuting to campus? Easiest challenge to overcome?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The toughest challenge was making friends because I was missing out on social events. The easiest challenge to overcome was waking up extra early to drive to campus. I was able to make a schedule that works for me so that I am still able to get the sleep I need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Major<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Name something you have learned about your intended major that you did not know at the beginning of the semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Something I have learned about the nursing major is that I will have plenty of time next year to take other classes and do not have to take a ton of prerequisites.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Have your feelings changed about your intended major? List some thoughts you are having.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>My feelings have not changed about my nursing major. I have learned about new careers that would be good backup plans for me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Is there another subject (major or minor) that you are interested in learning more about?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I am interested in getting a minor in psychology, I just need to talk with my advisor to figure out how to fit it into my schedule.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Connecting to Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Name one problem or challenge you have encountered this semester, and which resource(s) at ODU you have\/can utilize to assist with this situation.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>One challenge I am currently having is completing a history project. A resource I am planning on using is history tutoring to help me understand the material better.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Is there a friend, roommate, professor, advisor, or group in the ODU community who has helped you so far this semester? If so, how did they help you?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>My advisor has helped me to plan out my next three semesters with all nursing prerequisites.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Have you attended an interest meeting for a club? Why did you decide to get involved or not get involved?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I have not attended an interest meeting. Although I planned to join a club or two at the beginning of the semester, I am busier than I thought I would be. I do still want to join a club, I just have to manage my time differently so that I can continue to keep up with my classes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Study Habits I am doing well in all of my classes except history.
