Cyber technology is always evolving. Whether its hackers forcing it to change, or cyber attacks from more dangerous individuals, Cyber technology and security will always be advancing. However Cyber technology can also do more than just protect or be the head of dangerous attacks. Deviance is described as a state of moving from normal standards, especially in social behaviors. Work place deviance happens easily when looking in the cyber technology field as deviance can happen through the web rather than being face to face. This in turn makes it harder to trace or detect. An example of this is when an employee is fired or let go due to a reason they do not agree with. What the former employee could do is then use their knowledge and information they have gathered and use it to attack the business. An example of this is when an employee who was fired decided to sell information to their competition. This happened when a former Coca-Cola employee decided to sell the recipe to Pepsi. Luckily Pepsi did the right thing by letting Coca-Cola know of the employee’s decision, making themselves look better and gaining favor from Coca-Cola.
This leaves the company at risk from former employees giving their sensitive information away to hackers who has ill intentions for it. Not only this, but this also leaves the passing of information having an increase in difficulty at tracing the data leaks due to not being able to figure out which fired employee caused the leak to occur. This leads to these former employees also causing more damage for long periods of time rather than just being caught in public or from a camera. While cybersecurity and technology has many different increased benefits to evolution of its advanced structure and abilities, it can also be a detriment as employees that were fired or let go can now have information that they have acquired and easily exchange it to individuals who will cause harm.
