Social Cybersecurity
Social Cybersecurity is a lot more than just standard cybersecurity when looking at the multiple aspects it has instead. Social cybersecurity instead is utilizing technology instead in order to get into humans instead of other technologies and utilities social sciences instead of traditional methods with cybersecurity and hackers and cybersecurity professionals use cognitive hacking, which get information from other systems about the target.
Specifically, social cybersecurity is a mix of other social sciences combined with cybersecurity. For an example by Carley and their team: “Emerging theories blend political science, sociology, communication science, organization science, marketing, linguistics, anthropology, forensics, decision science, and social psychology. (Carley et al,.)” This shows that social cybersecurity itself is multidisciplinary and uses various disciplines to start cognitive hacking and is utilized from individuals to even the government.
In the government, social cybersecurity is used greatly and even the military uses it as well. It is even counted as national security that has the potential to be a great deciding factor in cyber warfare as it highlights the importance of human behavior and is able to even forecast it. Various other aspects of social behaviors can be utilized by social cybersecurity and cognitive hacking to easily find out political outcomes and changes in society in the area.
In conclusion, the article covers the importance of social cybersecurity deeply and brings out multiple definitions and information to under what it does and what it is. It shows how important human behaviors are in the cybersecurity field and can show mediated changes in the various behaviors. While this can be utilized in order to gather information about people, it can also be used to prepare and protect from various cyber threats in advance.
