Research of Data Breaches

Data breaches become more common as years go by. Technology keeps advancing and hackers use this to their advantage, developing new ways to breach past firewalls, to steal private information that only the user should know like passwords and bank information, to even having use in war. Hacking is dangerous and hackers can breach and gather consumer data and sell it away for a profit. Luckily however, research Is being done into data breaches and one website documents all of them around the world.

Privacy is key and privacyrights.org documents all data breaches that occur in the us and worldwide. As an organization, privacyrights.org’s purpose is for the people to protect against breaches to provide its users information about the company they may be using having a data breach. The site also has many resources for its users to use and goes over reports and gives overviews over privacy laws. (privacyrights.org)

The website also provides cohesive and well documented data for breaches that have recently occurred. Researchers can use this to document and gather information about companies that are having frequent data breaches and gives a detailed number of users that face impact from the breaches and are also able to use the resources on the website to dive deeper into why and how these data breaches occur.

In conclusion, privacyrights.org provides a lot of information for users and researchers to take a deep dive into privacy laws and current data breaches that occurred. There is data that constantly updates with newer breaches and multiple resources to use for research and for getting help with privacy.
