BLUF : Spend 60% on cybersecurity tools like firewalls and antivirus and 40% on training
our employees to spot scams all around . The tools stop most attacks, But our people
are the last line of defense.
Simple Plan for Limited Budget
1. Buy Cybersecurity Tools 60% of Budget
Why? Tools will take care of the heavy duty taks to block hackers automatically.
● Antivirus software: Protect our computer from viruses.
● Firewalls: Blocks unrecognizable internet traffic.
● Spam filters: prevents phishing emails.
● Password managers: Helps employees use strong passwords yet easy
passwords made for them.
Why Tools First?
● They work 24/7, even when people make simple mistakes.
2. Train Employees (40% of Budget)
Why? Hackers often trick people into giving passwords or clicking bad links.
How should training go?
● Teach our staff how to spot phishing emails
● Explain how to report suspicious messages.
● Have fun hands on tasks that will not bore anyone , Engagement is key.
Why Training Matters?
● As much as we rely on our tools even the best tools can’t stop everything. For
example, If a hacker pretends to be the boss or someone important in an email,
Employees need to know not to click.
Conclusion
Think of cybersecurity like locking your house:
● Tools = Locks and Alarms ( As they do most of the work )
● Training = Teaching everyone to not leave keys under the mat.
