Cyber Law

This course examined key U.S. laws and legal frameworks governing digital environments, focusing on civil and criminal perspectives. I gained knowledge of legal requirements and limitations relevant to cyber operations, including compliance with federal regulations, directives, and cybersecurity policies. The course also introduced legal considerations around government contracts and federal acquisition requirements, helping to prepare me to operate within legal and regulatory boundaries in cybersecurity roles.

This policy memo, written as a recommendation to a state governor, evaluates privacy risks associated with personally identifiable information (PII) and biometric data collection. Drawing on legislation like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Virginia and Connecticut data laws, and GDPR principles, I proposed actionable strategies for state-level regulation.
