Top Artifacts

Coming in as number 5 for my top artifacts was our “love project,” it was rather interesting to see our ratings for love and how accurately it had represented us. I thoroughly enjoyed writing the response and reminiscing old memories and using it as a reflection upon myself to see how I am as a lover. My favorite part of this project was the ability to turn our emotions/feelings into numbers and “statistics,” and using those numbers to define how we are as lovers and what we need to feel loved.

For my visual representation for this project, I’ve chosen a picture of a woman sitting in a man’s shadow, where he appears to be oblivious to her being there. I believe this is a great visual representation for this project because it showcases unrequited love.

My fourth artifact would be our self- reflection project, in which we wrote an essay on how our pictures had represented us. I believe to be able to achieve higher emotional intelligence, self-understanding, one has got to be able to reflect on the negative aspects of their lives as well and this project has got us doing just that.

For my visual representation, I’ve chosen a picture of Winnie the Pooh looking at himself in the mirror which represents self-reflecting.Image result for self reflection

My third artifact would be from our gender and general stereotype chapter; as mentioned before, whether it be gender or racial stereotypes this is a topic I can deeply relate to. While studying and reviewing this chapter, it has got me thinking beyond the stereotypes that has been applied to me. It has got me thinking about how I subconsciously view others and how societal teachings of certain groups of people has affected how I view and act around them.

For my visual representation, I’ve chosen a picture a little girl playing with kitchen toys thus adhering to the stereotypes of women belonging in the kitchen.Image result for little girl kitchen toys

My second artifact would be our video response to advertisements adhering to gender stereotypes; this video has stood out to me in comparison to the rest of the text. I think this is mainly due to the speaker touching base on physical expectations of a woman based off of societal standards.

For my visual representation, I have chosen a FitTea ad because this tea company blew up all over social media giving women the hopes of losing weight and staying healthy by drinking their tea.

Coming in first place for my top artifacts was our “pay it forward” project. I really enjoyed doing this project because it made me self-reflect and realize the little joys of life and how that has a chain affect and can affect others as well.

For my visual representation, I’ve chosen a picture of a person holding an umbrella for a dog. I believe this picture showcases the meaning of our project very well.
