Protocol

I will be working closely with Strawbridge Elementary school in order to do my evaluation. I plan on observing for the majority of my evaluation. I want to watch and see how things run at first. I want to see how accessible the counselors are to the students because that is their main job in the school system. Then I want to interview the counselors, and a few of the school teachers to get a good idea of what they think is going well, and what they think could be worked on.

My questions would include:

1. What do you feel is your main job here?

2. What does this job mean to you?

3. Have you thought about what could be improved?

4. Is there anything that the students express concerns about?

5. If you were a student at this school, what would be something you would want to see done differently?

After these questions are asked by the counselors and a few of the school workers I would have to look at their answers. I would want to see if there is any similarities between the answers. If there is this is where I begin with what I think could be worked on. I really want the counselors and school workers to have the biggest say in what they believe needs the most change within their own school. I would look and see if my observations aliened with the concerns that the counselors showed me during their interviews as well.
