Journal Entry #6

There are numerous methods to identify a counterfeit website. The predominant method employed by phishers to entice users is the inclusion of dangerous links within phishing emails. Additionally, one can identify a fraudulent website by examining the URL for any irregularities in the letters. Occasionally, you may neglect it when moving swiftly, but you must exercise caution regarding this matter. Finally, the majority of official websites utilize URLs that commence with HTTPS instead of HTTP. This indicates that the site employs an SSL/TLS server, which encrypts communication between the server and the user.

Since I am unable to locate any emails with fraudulent links, I will create my own instances.

Exercise caution while evaluating websites, since some fraudulent ones may contain extraneous letters, leading you to incorrect destinations.

Real: www.google

Additionally, when examining a URL, one should ascertain which links utilize HTTP versus HTTPS. HTTP links are not necessarily secure, indicating the absence of an SSL/TLS layer. However, one should use caution with HTTPS websites, as they may potentially be erroneous.

Finally, exercise caution with websites that may have inaccuracies, as this could suggest that the site is not an authentic source. *I lack a website for this illustration. *
