Interpretive Reading

I practice this by reading all of the Spanish words I find around me in daily life. I work in construction and any time I get the chance, I read the Spanish descriptions in the manuals or on tools and supplies. I then read the English version to help clarify what I read. I also practice by reading it aloud, making sure that I am correctly pronouncing the words and also when reading full sentences, it helps me to get a better grasp of the flow of the language. Once I am able to understand the words and the flow, I can then start to interpret what I am reading about. It starts to form a pattern and the fact that Spanish has many words that sound like their English counterparts also helps. I can then form the gist of what I am reading and this helps me form an idea of the concept as a whole.
