How does your major relate to cybersecurity technology?

My major at Old Dominion University happens to be cybersecurity. This is my second semester at Old Dominion and it is the first time I am taking a course that directly relates to my major in college. I have taken a few courses in high school and have a very basic understanding of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity technology serves as an important part of what my major deals with. I believe it goes hand in hand because my major deals with all aspects of cybersecurity.

One of the most important reasons why I am taking this course is because it relates so heavily to my major. I want to learn more about cybersecurity and how it impacts all fields. As I have learned so far, cybersecurity is a growing topic in society and people from all majors need to learn about it. Whether your major deals with finance, information technology, or even business, cybersecurity is an important subject to study up on. I am excited that I chose to major in cybersecurity and am eager to understand what it is all about.

All of the information that I learn about in cybersecurity will hopefully help me get a job in an IT field in the future. Learning the basics of cybersecurity technology is a great building block. There are so many practices and technologies that are involved with this major that I will need to start looking into. I will also hopefully learn more about the cybersecurity framework and how it is impacting our society today.

As I am starting to make my journey through the cybersecurity curriculum, I will keep everything that I learn in this class in mind. Even though my major is cybersecurity I will need to know how students and professors from other majors are influenced by cybersecurity. In conclusion, my major definitely relates to cybersecurity technology and I can’t wait to learn more about it!
