Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country.

The risk of cyber-attacks continues to grow at a critical rate, all countries must be prepared to face these evolving threats.

The United states must prepare to keep the networks more secure. Attempts to improve network security were made by previous administrations however, the constant evolution of threats and vulnerabilities continue to be a great risk.

The U.S legislation is one of the main issues the country faces. There have been many disagreements regarding cyber bills and time is crucial for any country when it comes to cybersecurity. Some administrators “seem to think reflexively that this 19th-century solution is the answer” (the heritage foundation,2021) The inability to some congressmen to fully understand represents an elevated risk, a more prepared administration is needed to take control over subjects of this magnitude.

Although there are some issues, the U.S has been successful in maintaining networks protected. according to the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) the United states is in the top 5 cyber security countries. The GCI has made these predictions based on legal, technical, organizational, capacity building and cooperation. The United states faces one of the largest percentages of cyber-attacks in the world and has been able to remain well protected.

Compared to the U.S.A, China’s cyber security focuses more in protecting data for the government rather than its citizens. In the United states, there exists different polices that protect consumers data and not only the government. The policies in China do not specify how companies can use the consumers data, leaving citizens vulnerable to exploitation.

I believe China is not one of the strongest in this field because of their laws. It is important for any country to ensure data is protected in all sectors. It is unfair the treatment China has to its own citizens. In my perspective, not protecting all sectors can leave loopholes for cybercriminals to develop new ways to intercept sensitive information.
