Week 11 – Journal Entry 10

The article Social Cybersecurity an Emerging National Security Requirement by Lt. Col. David M. Beskow and Kathleen M. Carley, PhD explains how cyber threats go beyond hacking and data breaches adversaries now manipulate social media and online platforms to spread misinformation and influence public opinion. This form of cyber warfare can destabilize societies, impact elections, and weaken national security. From what i read the article stresses the need for military leaders to recognize these threats and develop strategies to counteract them. It explains how understanding social cybersecurity is just as important as traditional cybersecurity and reinforcing the need for defense systems to adapt to the evolving digital battlefield.
