Health services administration relates heavily on cybersecurity because of how much personal information they have. Every patient has to fill out forms that gives their name, address, date of birth, etc. On top of that, the patients form of payment may also be at risk. If they use a credit or debit card, an office may have that on file. Next, I chose accounting. Businesses have a lot of income data they need to have sorted and dealt with. Larger businesses will often have an accounting department with multiple employees. If they were to experience an attack, they could be shut out of critical data and programs they need. Accounting requires a lot of work and can be tedious to do. If they get shut out for an extensive amount of time, they might get too far behind and need help to catch up, taking away from others time. Finance has a lot in common with the health services administration in terms of personal information, just a different kind. People trust finance professionals to help them with their money. How to budget, help with taxes, etc. They give companies information like their spending habits and how much they have saved. If someone wishing ill will on random people got a hold of that, they might see couple x has $150,000 saved and might try get that out of them. Finally, I went with civil engineering. Civil engineers help design and do the math for what will work and what wont work for different structures. They use different programs to help with calculations and simulations. If someone got into that, they could have information on how to ruin structures or how to get into a place they shouldn’t be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The four majors I decided to go with are health services administration, accounting, finance, and civil engineering.
