- Collaborate and communicate with team members to work towards a common goal
- Demonstrate planning and project management to achieve a goal
- Exhibit responsible and ethical decision-making and personal integrity
- Engage with a variety of leadership skills such as: effectively leading change, resolving conflict, problem solving, and motivating others
Reflection Activities
First, clearly identify and describe your Leadership course or co-curricular experience. Then, select and incorporate evidence that demonstrates you achieved a majority of the outcomes. To do so, you will need to complete at least 2 of the reflection activities listed below. As this is a digital portfolio, avoid relying only on writing. Consider providing pictures, video, or other media to demonstrate skills obtained or enhanced by this experience.
You can use video to respond to some of the prompts, so long as you also include materials you produced during the experience.
- Provide an example of a project in which you set a goal and achieved it in collaboration with others. Reflect on how you developed a plan, worked with others, resolved issues, and used responsible decision-making in order to pursue this goal. What might you do differently when faced with a similar situation in the future? Include a PDF of this project.
- Provide an example of a time in which you faced an issue within a team situation. How did you resolve it? Why did you choose this strategy? How might you use this experience in the future? What might you do differently when faced with a similar situation in the future? Include a PDF of this project.
- Provide an example of a time in which you faced a difficult decision as a team. How did you resolve it? What role did ethics play in your decision-making process? How would you draw on this experience in the future? What might you do differently when faced with a similar situation in the future? Include a PDF of this project.
- Provide an example of a project that demonstrates your communication skills. What obstacles in communication did you face? How did you resolve this? How might you draw on this experience in the future to design effective communication plans with a team? What might you do differently when faced with a similar situation in the future? Include a PDF of this project.
- Reflect on a leadership role you have held outside of your Leadership course/co-curricular experience (e.g., student organization leader, work experience in which you have led others, etc.). How did/does your leadership role connect to principles you learned in your course/co-curricular experiences? How have you demonstrated leadership skills within your role, such as effectively leading change, resolving conflict, problem solving, and motivating others? Provide specific examples and demonstrations of your work (e.g., photos, videos, documents, and presentations).
