Taking this class with Anatomy and Physiology should be required. Information from this class helped piece together the mechanisms in that class, making it easier to understand. For instance, when we were discussing molecular motor proteins such as dyneins, myosin, and kinesin, I was learning in my Anatomy and Physiology class about muscle contractions. Also, when we were discussing actin filaments and their polymerization with their regulating proteins in this class, we were also discussing troponin and tropomyosin. These overlaps helped fill in details that made it easier to remember concepts in both classes and helped me be successful. This just shows how important molecular biology is to understanding concepts in other fields of biology.
