I spend about the double amount of time that I spend in the class a week, a total of 6 hours. I think I do need to spend more time into studying because I rather be over prepared then less prepared. I also need to put more time into studying for chemistry. I tend to study at the library or even my room when I’m alone. I always feel distracted when studying because my attention span is really small. I can leave my phone with someone else so that I want be distracted by people texting me and getting alerts. I study during the day because I won’t feel sleepy or drained. I feel very focused and alert when studying during the evening.
I think that making flash cards and quizzing myself is the best techniques for me. Vocabulary is very important class to class. I have tried to use resources like my peers and next I will start going to the tutoring resources.
College has definitely been what I expected because I know it was going to be over whelming and being a lot on my own. I think it’s exactly what I expected, its just ow I’m living in it and have to adjusts and learn how to live through it. What has surprised me about my experiences was that the learning style is way different from high school. My toughest thing about living on campus is that I couldn’t bring everything from home. Also, the limited space I have and living with someone else. The easiest thing is keeping things neat and clean and working out a system with my roommate and suitemates.
A problem I encountered this semester is learning time management and failing test. The resources I can use for time management is having a smart goal, planning out my schedule. The resources I can use for failing test is the tutoring resources and already pre planning what I understand and don’t understand in the particular class. Yes there is a group of people that has helped me this semester, which is my LLC friends that I live with on my hall. They help me by lifting my spirit and giving me encouraging words. I attended the gloss club interest meeting. I wanted to get involved because I have a passion for helping others in any way possible. I wanted to mentor young girls because I want people to be able to have that person they go to when they need to talk to during ruff times, having a support system and someone who is going to give great advise.
