I personally would rank money as the motive that makes the most sense. Some people end up in positions where they have to do what they need to do to survive and that is the most justifiable motive in my opinion. Next, would be multiple reasons. The article talks about how many hackers are so skilled at what they do that they feel inclined to become a hacker which makes sense in a way. 3rd I would rank political reasons. If you are doing something political then you would believe that it is for the greater good, which can make sense as a motivator. 4th for me would be recognition, as it can make more sense to me to do something wanting to be recognized rather than the other reasons. I would put revenge next, as sometimes revenge can cloud judgement and cause you to do something in the moment. Boredom and entertainment fall into the same tier for me as I believe these are the worst motivators and it is never worth risking severe consequences because you are simply looking for something to do.
