The cybersecurity analyst job is one that is constantly changing and evolving with the times. As new technologies are developed, the need for people who can protect these systems from cyber-attacks grows. In this presentation, we learn about some of the social behaviors that are important for someone in this career field. One theme that arises is the importance of teamwork. The cybersecurity analyst must be able to work with others in order to protect networks and systems from harm. They must also be able to communicate effectively so that they can share information and collaborate on projects. Another theme is the importance of being able to think critically. The analyst must be able to identify potential threats and come up with solutions quickly in order to keep their system safe. They must also be able to stay up-to-date on new technologies and how they can be used by hackers as well as ways to prevent these attacks from happening. Knowing the specific vulnerabilities allows the analyst to find ways to patch and improve the system. The last social theme is training because learning new skills can enhance the role of the analyst. The cybersecurity analyst goes through yearly continuing education to become familiar with new tools and earn certifications to upskill and climb the ranks of the company/organization. When the person is promoted to another role, it leaves a hole for someone else to fill in the spot. This process is called social mobility because the transition to different jobs will allow newcomers to secure entry level jobs and work their way to a higher position. In conclusion, a cybersecurity analyst has a vital connection to the social world because of the relationship to the technology and economic concepts.
