The most serious violations that can happen is using copyrighted images, using torrent services, collecting information about children, bullying and trolling, and faking your identity online. Using copyrighted images means that someone takes an image that is owned by another person and claim it as his/her own. It is very illegal because the person can be sued by the other party. If successful, the person cannot be able to use the image for any reasons, even if attribution is given to the other party. Using torrent services means that people download files from a third-party website and share the files with other people. It is not illegal, but it can have serious effects because anyone can put malware on the files and spread it to the others. Also, the torrent files can be used to trick people into using official software, but they might be using a dangerous software. Collecting information on children is when social media targets the children and sell their information to advertisers. It is a serious offense because children should not be exposed on social media. When other people manipulate the data to blackmail the children, it can cause traumatizing effects on the children. The same goes for bullying and trolling. People say bad things and try to hurt other people’s feelings. The results can be devastating because victims may commit suicide or do other severe behaviors. The smallest words can have a long-lasting effect on the person’s mental health. Faking an identity is when someone tries to use another person’s identity or an avatar. It can be used as a precursor to crime because most scammers use fake identities to pull off the scams. Using a fake identity can have bad consequences like prosecution of malicious intent.
