This article focuses on the impact that AI and cybersecurity has on the stress levels of employees. The main idea of this article is to understand how human behavior is influenced by different factors in the work environment. The study implements the psychological effect that a stressful environment can be on employees, behavior principles, and how these employees react to their specific job in reporting incidents. The main research question of this study is how do AI and cybersecurity factors influence employees’ stress levels and incident reporting. From these questions, the researchers have made different hypotheses. These are, “Cybersecurity factors including surveillance and monitoring, increase stress.” as well as, “High levels of stress negatively affect employees’ likelihood of reporting suspicious behavior and incidents.” The study uses methods such as having surveys and questioning employees from different organizations, mainly from those that are in a high-risk of cybersecurity attacks and interact with AI technology. Then data was collected using a scale to measure levels of stress, the frequency of reporting incidents, and how what they felt on AI tools in cybersecurity. After that, the data was analyzed using statistics to have a better understanding of the relationship of AI and cybersecurity. The results have shown that AI systems do in fact increase levels of stress particularly in work environments where workers feel like they are being watched/monitored constantly. However, getting training in cybersecurity mitigated effects of that stress. The study also has challenges faced by marginalized groups, for example, these groups may be more prone to the stress of the cybersecurity incidents and may be hesitant to report suspicious behavior. This article makes an important contribution to society by identifying the role that the stress caused by AI and cybersecurity has on employees. Making sure employees are comfortable in the workplace as a whole should be the top priority in an organization in order to maintain a healthy workplace.
