Examining the Journal: Cyberbullying and Cyberbullicide Ideation Among Jordanian College Students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


I chose this article to review because I feel like cyberbullying and cyberbullicide is a
growing concern and there is a need for awareness and prevention to protect individuals from
online abuse and I also liked the way this article was written. I will be breaking down specific
parts of this article like the topics relating to principles of social science, describing the
hypothesis, research methods, types of data analysis, and things about how the article has an
overall contribution in studies to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


How The Topic is Related to Principles of Social Science and Threats to Marginalized Groups<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


The principles of social science are a guide for the study of social interactions, science
and societies. There are many ways that this article is related to the principles of social science
and these are just some that stood out to me. In this article they use many different examples
that they researched to help understand the social phenomenon of cyberbullying. In the article
they also hit on the topic of how culture is related to cyberbullying. Marginalized groups such as
racial minorities, people with disabilities or even those who come from low-income households
could be targeted. Another one of the principles of social science that I feel is directly related to
this topic is the topic of change and continuity. As societies continue to evolve into a more cyber
based society the threat of cyberbullying hightens. They used an article published by Mirian
Agus , Maria Lidia Mascia, Maria Assunta Zanetti, Simona Perrone, Dolores Rollo, and Maria Pietronilla Penna that explained how covid had an effect on cyberbullying among children and
young people with everything going online, which I found interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Hypothesis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


A Hypothesis is important in research because it gives a clear statement that guides the
readers through the study. The hypothesis for this article is, \u201cstudents’ cyberbullying
victimization could lead to cyberbullicide and in the least scenario to cyberbullicide ideation.\u201d
There is a good cause and effect relationship between cyberbullying and cyberbullicide in this
hypothesis. When this is broken down you can see that, \u201cstudent victimization\u201d is referring to
students experiencing threats or harassment online, \u201ccould lead to cyberbullicide\u201d implies that
these threats could lead to suicide, and \u201cin the least scenario to cyberbullicide ideation\u201d suggest
that even if the harrassment doesn\u2019t lead to suicide it can still cause suicidal thoughts or
depression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Research Methods and Types of Data<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Valid research methods and types of data are crucial for determining that the study is
accurate. This study uses a variety of different research methods. They included multiple
different studies, surveys, theories, and statistics to validate their findings. They go into detail
with each of the studies that they referenced and have a clear explanation of how it relates to
the study. Also, something that might seem like a small detail but they also alphabetized their
references to make it easier to find them when needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Closing statement <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, I believe this article was well written, properly researched and was related
to the principles of social science. By examining and breaking down this article the relationship
between cyberbullying and cyberbullicide can be understood, it also gives us insight on how to
be more aware of when cyberbullying is happening, how to better prevent cyberbullying and
ways to build support systems for when these attacks occur. Reading this article and
understanding how to address the issues that come with cyber can help create a safer
environment and hopefully reduce the amount of unfortunate effects that come from
cyberbullying.
