The principles of
science that I will be covering in this journal are Empiricism, Determinism, Parsimony,
and Objectivity. Starting off with Empiricism, this helps by allowing cybersecurity
professionals to make strategic decisions based on patterns of attack rather than trying
to rely on hypothetical theories. Determinism is the idea that when a system is
vulnerable and weak, at some point it will be targeted. It is important to find these
weaknesses in a system to prevent breaches before it is too late. Parsimony in cyber
security is needed when a straightforward solution is needed. Parsimony is beneficial
because similar security strategies should be easier to monitor rather than something
that is super complex. Lastly, objectivity is related to the principles of science because it
uses concrete data for making decisions, which is important when trying to maintain
predictability, instead of personal opinions which could cause cyber risk. All of these
principles are important to consider when following through with cybersecurity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Principles of Science Understanding how the different principles of science relate to cybersecurity in their ownways can be straightforward in some ways and confusing in others.
