After reviewing the NICE Workforce Framework, I found that the area that appeals to me the most is “Protect and Defend.” I enjoy the idea of stopping threats and protecting systems before damage is done. Roles like Cyber Defense Analyst or Incident Responder really interest me because they deal with detecting attacks and acting fast to prevent them from spreading. I also like problem-solving, which fits well with these roles. The area that appeals to me the least is “Operate and Maintain.” While it’s important, I don’t find myself as interested in daily system maintenance or configuration tasks. I prefer the idea of identifying threats and defending against them in real time more.
