There are three ways that computer make our world safe and less safe at the same time. The first way is that computers depend on the internet for everything. In our modern world, we have to use the internet to go to school, chat on social media, and read the news. In these sectors, the computer allows us to learn more information and connect with the others around us. However, it can be dangerous that the computer is reliant on the internet. If someone targets our electrical systems, they can knock out our infrastructure. Companies can lose money and people can be affected by the outage. It may impact the person’s job and hinder communication. Next, computers are getting stronger AI capabilities with the improvement for the processor of the computer. AI can help protect our computer from hackers and facilitate daily tasks for the person. One example is that AI can help locate and give directions for navigating a street. AI can control our smart home devices and filter out background noise for a video call. Now, AI needs to be monitored and inspected to follow the demands of the user. Once supercomputers exist, they can develop a mind of their own and can override the commands of the master. Finally, computers are getting more portable and compact for the average consumer. This can have beneficial environmental effects. Sustainable materials and lower energy consumption can help technology make a light impact on the environment. Though sustainable pursuits can lead to more purchases because prices can drop and there is a growing population that relies on technology. The fast rate of computers released each year can ruin the efforts to remain carbon neutral by 2030 because they have a short lifespan and goes into wasteyards rather than deposited for recycle purposes to convert the materials for other uses or extract the valuable minerals.
