Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Exploring Culture
In this class we did class activities that helped me better understand the Spanish culture. For our sports unit we would read paragraphs in Spanish from people in the Spanish speaking world and they would give us insight on how things are done in their country. reading these gained my understanding on Spanish culture.
These practices showed me the gender inequality inside Spanish speaking worlds and in america. I was able to acknowledge how male athletes make more money participating in sports than females do. As an athlete myself this was very interesting to me and caused me to research further about these social problems worldwide. From research I found about males athletes making more money than female athletes brought me to the conclusion that males worldwide are far more respected than females.
Engaging in Communities
Engaging in your immediate community can help one learn new skills and make a positive impact on your surroundings, however engaging in your global community can help someone learn about different cultures and gain new perspectives.

Interpersonal Communication
Talk abroad is a great platform to connect with multiple Spanish speaking countries. I was able to sit and have a fifteen minute conversation in Spanish with a Women and male from the Spanish speaking worlds.Talk abroad is a opportunity to speak with others from different cultures to collaborate.
In my talk abroad sessions I have had conversations with two individuals about our favorite foods, family members, favorite places to hang out and even ways to maintain good health. In this session I was able to tell these individuals my perspective on how to stay healthy and they also shared their way of living healthy with me. We talked about which foods contribute to healthy diets and also the foods we like and dislike. communicating in these sessions helped me to see the kinds of foods the Spanish speaking countries eat. It was sometimes difficult to understand everything they were saying, however I did a great job at asking them to repeat themselves while still speaking in Spanish.
Presentational Speaking
I participated in two talk abroad sessions, presented a project in class and also had a speaking exam with my professor. I have also done class participation activities that enhanced my Spanish speaking abilities.
In my second talk abroad session with Christian Rodriguez, I discovered facts about him and his preferences. Christian also asked me questions about myself. This talk abroad session went very smoothly. I did a good job of asking questions and maintaining speaking the Spanish language. If I was able to redo this session, I would try having a more casual conversation instead of asking scattered questions.
Intermed-LowPresentational Writing
In this course I have completed multiple writing projects. I have made a flyer regarding why people should join my volleyball team and i have also created an infographic sharing facts about COVID-19 and how to protect yourself from this disease.
In both writing assignments I struggled to meet the word count of 150 words. However I was able to make small changes to my final project. We were told to write all of our information without using any outside resources. This became difficult for me because it was challenging to remember all of the Spanish qualifications. Although it was difficult, I managed to write down all of what I knew so that I could later make corrections. For the end results I believe I did a good job of structuring my sentences correctly and also making my projects pleasing to look at.

Interpretive Listening
During this course I have watched YouTube videos that give me tips on how to conjugate verbs, and all the rules to speaking and writing in Spanish.
I started watching these videos because I found myself struggling with conjugating verbs . These videos assist me in making sure I knew how to correctly form a sentence in Spanish. I overcame my struggles by continuing to watch these videos. I enjoyed the videos rather than the ones on lingrolearning because they were longer and broke down how to conjugate them in fun ways.

Interpretive Reading
I have read casual text conversations, descriptions of people in Spanish speaking world and also passages on how to maintain good health.
when reading these texts I have struggled with knowing what each word means. To overcome this struggle I studied my vocabulary words which definitely helped me understand what I was reading better. Most of the text I have read required me to select specific verbs and if I was unsure of which verbs to choose I would go back to my unit vocabulary.
