Students regularly request that I write them recommendation letters. I find that the hardest letters to write are for students that I don’t know beyond a course that they’ve taken with me. While I dislike turning down such requests, I know that writing a vague letter isn’t doing them any favors. I constructed this infographic to encourage students to establish relationships with faculty so that they can readily speak to their abilities.
