Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

I use technology almost every single day. For school, I use it to complete assignments, communicate with my professors and advisors, and maintain my school schedule; for personal uses, I use technology to talk to friends, entertain myself, and keep up to date with my work schedule. There are so many more uses of technology that I personally use, along with many others that don’t necessarily apply to me, but are used by others in their everyday lives just as I do. This is where my interest in cybersecurity technology comes into play. People, including myself, use technology for a plethora of reasons every single day, to the point that most of our lives would not function without it. Because of this, I think it’s important to be knowledgeable of the various types of cyber technology out there, and the different mechanisms that go into that, to ensure you have as much security protecting you and your information as possible. I want to be able to understand the best way I can keep myself secure online, especially my information since the vast majority of it is digital. Possible compromising or losing my data, whether it be the actions of someone intentionally doing it, or some kind of virus that finds its way into my system, I want to be prepared to be able to recognize the signs of these types of issues and stop them before they happen, or at the very least be privy to information that would aid me fixing the issue. Overall, I just want to increase my awareness of different cybersecurity technologies so that I can use that knowledge in a way that will be beneficial to me. I’m also curious in wanting to understand how different people use technology and both the advantages, and when applicable the disadvantages, cybersecurity technology has on them.
