Activities

When developing skills in Spanish is important to not only engage one’s Spanish skills inside the classroom but also outside the classroom by engaging in various Spanish activities that apply to classroom learning and help develop one’s skills. Many activities can be done to enhance the learning of the Spanish language. Some activities that I have engaged in include watching Spanish films, volunteering in a food shelter that caters to the Spanish-speaking community, and handing out Bibles in Spanish to the community. There are also many activities related to the Spanish language that I have not yet had the opportunity to participate in. Two activities that I look forward to participating in are attending a weekly meal at the Global Friendship House: International Student Housing at ODU and participating in an event hosted by ODU’s language learning center. There are many opportunities to engage with the Spanish-speaking world to enhance my Spanish skills and I look forward to participating in more out-of-the-classroom experiences soon.
