The CIA Triad is a very good model that allows companies to set up policies which help push the CIA’s big three concepts. Those concepts being confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Each one of these concepts helps create better ways of keeping people’s information safe.

The CIA Triad is very important because it is the model which allows for better policies to be made in order to abide by their three main concepts. One of those concepts being confidentiality, an example of policies that helps with confidentiality are things like a two-step verification to be able to really tell if it’s you or not. The second concept is integrity which in the cyberworld means a company’s level of trustworthiness, an example of a policy that helps with integrity are intrusion detection systems which make it clear to the user that no intrusion has been made. The last concept is availability, which is important because it allows you access to your information for whenever you need it.
– What would happen if we didn’t have the CIA Triad?
I believe without this model and without those three concepts to help guide policies all of our internet information would be at risk. Policies might not be as optimal as they could be and might be more suitable to data breaches which would not only harm us, but the organization as well.
