A rhetorical analysis is when you read a scholarly article or watch a YouTube video discussing a certain topic. The goal is not to summarize the article but to articulate it. It requires the reader to use their critical reading skills so they can figure out what the author wants to convey. You will also need to analyze the writing in different ways because the author will often employ different writing practices to get their message across. When you start, you should read or watch the material in bits not the whole thing at once. Rhetorical analysis are very insightful.
What I have learned from doing a rhetorical analysis is for my topic, racial issues in drama, there is a lot of research discussing this topic in bold fashion. Some articles discussed on the history of racial issues in drama. Another focused on the media and how racism are connected. Throughout the articles I red for the most part, the information was very surprising. It was an eye-opener for me. I also learned from working on this assignment that its very important to work on this early so professionals in the field can possibly offer you an internship. This website is very helpful in helping look towards the future.
