A Toulmin argument is is essentially a structure for analyzing arguments. There are several parts of a Toulmin: claim, data, warrant, backing, modality, and rebuttal. The claim is the statement that someone who want their side to happen. The data is pretty simple, it’s the information backing up the claim.The warrant is what ties the claim and grounds together. The backing is what supports the warrant. Modality is the degree of certainty used in offering the argument. Lastly, the rebuttal is basically acknowledging the opposition of your topic. The Toulmin structure is used as a tool for developing, analyzing, and categorizing arguments.

What I have learned from completing this assignment is that I still need some work on my writing. I need to make sure to establish a balance from sources and my own words.This could help follow my career when it comes time to show my resume and this is on there. It might help with getting a job in the career path that I want to go. I also know it need to remember to spell out the contractions that I have in my future papers. This website has been quite helpful when it comes down to stating several arguments.
