As a member of the military, being of service speaks to my heart. Especially as a member of the Hospital Corp and a Pre-medical student, giving to and helping my community means quite a lot to me. I don’t have picture proof of this, but when I can, I give to those less fortunate than myself. At one point during winter, I kept extra blankets in my car, in case someone homeless looked cold. Now that it’s summer, I always keep extra water in my car, for myself in case anything happens, and for someone else who may need it. I’ve been scammed before, by people pretending to be homeless, but I haven’t let this deter me. If I have extra to give, and I can, I do. It’s a better world when we give one another a helping hand… and not let the jerks bring us down to their level.
