Interpretive Listening

I’m not sure how to add clips of my VHL exercises or of the clips heard while taking In-class exams, but the entire semester as included interpretive listening. For exams, we were required to listen to various audio clips, and then answer questions related to what we hear. The same stood for homework assignments.

I had some difficulty with this, as the audio was not always clear, and sometimes the speakers said things differently from how I have been used to hearing. This required extra work, and replaying the audio multiple times, just to make sure that I understood it all. I would frequently take bulleted notes on what I hear, in preparation of the questions to come ( to avoid having to replay the audio again). I have an easier time with written statements, as I can quickly refer to the paragraph when answering questions. I’m sure that if I spent more time at home with my family (Mom & Dad, Brother and everyone else) it would become easy again…. But I’ve been away for almost 10 years now.

For reference, I found a very helpful video that may help others…..
