2024 EVMS Legacy Staff Award for Excellence in Efficiency and Effectiveness<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jon has demonstrated an admirable work ethic and outstanding technical
\nabilities. He has extended his support to other areas of IT by learning new
\nsoftware on the fly and aiding in the setup and installation. Additionally, he
\nhas gone further outside the scope of our standard responsibilities to aid
\nexternal vendors in troubleshooting their own product. This resulted in a
\nquicker upgrade and less downtime for the users. It is my belief that Jon
\nhas definitely earned this recognition. I have listed below several
\nachievements of note that support this recommendation. Jon has
\ncompleted all these projects swiftly with a minimal amount of input and
\nguidance. He is a true self starter dedicated to the mission of our team and
\na valuable asset to EVMS.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Built out and deployed JAMF, a Mac management framework, including
\ntraining techs on enrolling new devices
\n\u2022 Developed virtual New Network Device and VPN Request forms,
\neliminating old paper forms
\n\u2022 Built out mirrored SQL servers for GFI Archiver – our email archival
\nsystem
\n\u2022 Keep LogRhythm SIEM up-to-date – collecting critical log information for
\ntroubleshooting and forensics
\n\u2022 Configured Veeam ONE for advanced monitoring of virtual servers and
\nworkstations
\n\u2022 Audited SMTP relay to remove unnecessary access – eliminating security
\nrisks
\n\u2022 Eliminated AWS cold storage for backups to reduce costs
\n\u2022 Built out ManageEngine Data Security+ for advanced monitoring and
\nalerting of EVMS shared drives
\n\u2022 ManageEngine monitoring allowed us to discover a host infected with
\nmalware that was attempting to interact with EVMS shared drives
\n\u2022 Created dashboard for Brickell Library to monitor usage of Class and Lab
\ncomputers
\n\u2022 Implemented logging of FTP sites to detect any potential misuse
