When it comes to human contribution to cyberthreats, there’s a lot of ways you balance the tradeoff of training and additional technology. Instead of listing them all, there is one way that I believe shines out the other options. When it comes to the topic at hand, I feel as though that it is more important to focus on training due to the fact that it will provide better ground work. “Behavioral science(#behavioralscience) focuses not only on how new #risks and #vulnerabilities could be detected, but also on how humans perceive them and how those perceptions can misrepresent the actual threats leading to under- or overreaction when responses to threats are formulated.” This shows how the human experience can continue to adapt and develop new skills that may be more beneficial in the long run. But the trade off to this would be lack of additional technology which is a very vital thing. It is important to try to stay up to date when it comes to technology and technological advancements. So naturally, having a lack of this item will pose problems. In return, the business will be provided with better equipped workers who are better trained. Could even get to a situation where the workers work just as well, if not better, than the average worker with advancements in their tech. All in all, the human mind is constantly evolving. When it comes to cybersecurity, it is important to try to stay up to date with training of newer ways to breach a network. With that being said, it is safe to assume that using your budget to focus on training rather than tech improvements would prove to be beneficial. Even though the business will be more
crippled in the technology department, they will more than make up for it in the training that is
given. In the long run, this is the right choice.
