Opportunities for Workplace Deviance

Workplace deviance can occur for multiple different reasons. One of them being large or small corporations who seem to failingly execute the best security practices due to a lack of knowledge. The lack of emphasis on the importance of security awareness and the risk that comes thereafter can result in employees violating certain policies. Another example of deviance would be employees who make the decision to abuse the main purpose of a work computer or any business owned property for that matter. Using a business owned device for personal use is an extremely careless and dangerous action that can result in major repercussions. An employee that decides to use their work computer for their individual desires such as, logging into personal social media accounts, can result in hackers with an open window to infiltrate the business’s system.
