Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

I am interested in cyber security systems because of how universal they are in today’s world. No matter how safe you are there is always a way that your information can be manipulated or stolen if you aren’t being safe. The whole point of having these systems in place are to be able to keep such information safe. The biggest and most likely widely known example of this would be anti-malware software, companies like McAfee and Norton Anti-Virus are probably the most popular. These companies have contracts with computer companies and usually come pre-installed in laptops for free, then require you to purchase a membership after about 3 months to continue their service. They pretty much work by detecting any harmful malware and blocking it from your computer before it gets a chance to corrupt any of your data. Obviously, it doesn’t work all the time because nothing is perfect but along with some smart internet safety practices it does its job pretty well. This interests me because it seems cool to be able to keep other people safe when they are more than likely oblivious to the many dangers that can come from the internet. Companies like that may seem unnecessary because they require you to pay in order to block the malware, but it honestly only takes one good time for someone to slip up and allow all their information to be stolen or held ransom. It also means a lot to me because the ideal person using this software would be older, less technically sound people who aren’t good enough with computers to keep their information safe, and myself, being so close to my grandparents like to see that there is something that they can rely on so that they aren’t so vulnerable all the time.
