ATA 4
Assignment 4 has been my favorite assignment so far. This assignment gave me a detailed look into different forms of love and how they applied in my life. My writing is from a past relationship and my results reflected who I was then I would be interested in talking again now that I am a different person and know how to navigate relationships differently. This assignment reminds me of a personality class that I took my sophomore year. We learned about how different personalities communicate with one another and how genders interact sexually and their love language. It was all very similar to the learnings in this assignment. As I mentioned above, this assignment helped me realize who I was with my partner, which I already knew, but it was interesting to tap into that person. For example, I have matured and have more self-confidence which would be lower in “Mania.” Finally, this visual image represents my most confident/happy self. I’ve accomplished this level of self-love through therapy and support. I know with these changes I will be a healthier partner in the future.

I loved this past assignment. Well, who doesn’t love talking about themselves, but mostly I enjoyed it because I found there were greater depths to the pictures I was taking. This assignment allowed me to take a deeper look into who I truly am portraying through the camera. I had to stop and ask myself what message I was trying to portray to its audience when I took the picture. In earlier years of school, I remember talking about gender expression and how we move through life and communicate through our voice and our body language as humans. I learned that society is very quick to make a judgment on who you are by a picture they see. While viewing this picture I wanted to make sure that I was coming across as a progressive and open-minded individual. A lot of the time humans can get caught in how they should express themselves because of their gender and not who they are. Like the photo below. It’s about learning to be yourself and posting it with pride.

Through each of the heuristics I learned and wrote about taught me about myself. At first, I was having a hard time coming up with original examples but when I stepped back to think about my life on a daily basis. I had the most trouble coming up with an example for the anchoring and adjustment heuristic. I’d like to think I’m an open-minded person so I try not to anchor myself to any past beliefs when I do make decisions in real-time. I remember taking another psychology class where we had to do a very similar assignment and I found it just as interesting the second time around.
