I am interested in cybersecurity technology because from a young age I have not only been glued to a computer, but fascinated by malware. I have heard many stories of people who saw a virus popup as a child and were very scared, but also incredibly curious and I can certainly relate. That inspired me to study computers, originally I was going to study Computer Engineering, and then Computer Science, two very closely related field to cybersecurity. I did around a year or two in both majors before finally deciding on cybersecurity. Two other majors that relate to cybersecurity are sociology, as human interaction plays a huge role in cyber crime, as well as criminal justice, as cybersecurity teams may need to work with law enforcement to catch hackers, and law enforcement needs cybersecurity teams of their own.
