Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication
Exploring Culture
This artifact demonstrates the practice of interpretating different cultural perspectives. My understanding grew as I had the opportunity to learn the values of the family dynamic and roles in the Hispanic culture.

This article provided went into depth on the expectations and insights of a Hispanic household. It was interesting to see the similarities and differences shared. This challenged my worldview by exposing me to a functionality outside of my norm. I have never left the country therefore the bubble I have been secluded in felt popped in the best way. The biggest reveal was depending where you are from can factor the environment and experiences you receive. I admire the importance of family that is so heavily shown and to have these new viewpoints gained as I feel it helped me grow as a more culturally aware human being.
Engaging in Communities
This posting platform connected myself both in immediate community and global community. No matter where my classmates and peers are we were able to communicate both visually and verbally with one another. Hearing from others and posting replies gave an engagement and promoted socialization no matter what computer you are at.

This artifact demonstrates a website known as “Flipgrid”. The socialization aspect of getting to know one another at the start of the semester offered a sense of community without necessarily being nearby.
Interpersonal Communication
TalkAbroad takes practicing a foreign language to another level. While practicing a second language this resource allows for you to speak with someone from the native language. They are trained to work with beginners and offer a real world experience of putting skills to use. It is a thrill to view the countries available as well as meet or connect with someone else from another country.

For an online course there are multiple opportunities for personal interactions. I felt I have grown in the sense of familiarity of word fluency and vocabulary. With the continuous conversations, there is more and more I have been able to add in my tool box that is needed for holding a reciprocated conversation. The most difficult adversity was the lack of feedback to grow from my mistakes. I worked hard on my own and fought to reach the next step needed to succeed. I exceled at written portions and struggled with vocalizing my knowledge. Next time, I will add a variety of answers even if they do not appeal to myself as a person in the best interest of representing my skills.
Presentational Speaking
This is one of the first presentational speaking activities that we had to do in the beginning of class. In this presentation I had to record myself reciting words correlating to the alphabet.

The fist presentation above that I completed made me real nervous. I over came that through practicing repeatedly until I felt comfortable enough to record. The first TalkAbroad that I completed was messed up by the mistake of putting it into the wrong category. That gave me another opportunity to improve and practice my Spanish vocabulary. I had more practice than most and benefitted from each one.
Presentational Writing
This activity I had to talk about job stereotypes between Spain and the United States. I had to watch a video of kids between the two countries talk about what they wanted be when they grow up in the future. Then I had to answer questions based off the video shown. There were also a lot of lingro assignments that challenged our writing skills.

All of these type of activities expanded my horizon and made me get out of my comfort zone. It became easier not only expressing my feelings but writing them in Spanish. It is hard writing in Spanish knowing that you will mess up sometimes. Overcoming these difficulties and learning from your mistakes is the only way that you will learn. I exceled at correcting and learning from my mistakes because that is important. Next time some of the things I would do better is staying calm and relaxed because getting all worked up doesn’t help anything.
Interpretive Listening
Some listening activities I have completed this semester were mainly on lingro learning. They were all super challenging and time consuming. There was also quite a few listening activities on discussion boards and quizzes.

Lingro learning probably had about fifty listening activities that really challenged me to get better at listening to find the answers. I overcame this difficulty by just listening and learning from mistakes. Lingro learning has helped me grow significantly because you can have multiple attempts and lets you learn from your mistakes.
Interpretive Reading
Most of the reading activities I have done in class were on Lingro learning. Some other things that I read outside of class were articles.

The activity above that is shown is a reading activity that makes you find four reflexive verbs. There are so many of these activities on lingro learning that are extremely difficult. I grew from trial and error making my mistakes correct. These activities taught you so much patience and really taught you how to understand a Spanish written letter.
