In order to succeed in this class beyond the work inside of the classroom, I began watching movies with Spanish closed captions or also known as subtitles in order to reinforce knowledge. I began this practice on Disney+ where I thought it would be easier spoken language and slow paced. I witnessed how phrases I have heard were used in a specific context. This helped my visuality of skills come to life in an enjoyable way. This went beyond just movies and enforced my love of listening to the sounds of words in the music industry as well.
The learning of Spanish had me interested in the other games that could be involved with practicing Spanish. A loved one I reached out to had a game I found beneficial to learning and reinforcing vocabulary words. It was called “Loteria” very similar to bingo. The cards called out were a good listening practice as I matched it to the picture on my board. Outside of the classroom I attempted to take control of ways I could practices in the best interest of my learning journey.
