In relation to physiological needs are primarily essentials that are needed in order to survive such as food and water. Technology enables applications such as sleep apnea machines which keep people alive during sleep. Other technology would include safety features such as a ring doorbell which makes it possible to see who’s at your front door from your phone.
- Safety needs
There are a lot of applications that apply to the safety needs related to technology as it has advanced in the last century in regard to banking and overall surveillance. Now people can view full surveillance from their phone or answer the door through it making home safety extremely easy. There are also security systems to where if a sensor the police get called almost instantly.
- Love and Belongingness Needs
Love and belongingness have really changed due to the advance of technology. For instance, the concept of dating overall has changed and made it easy for people to connect with each other just by swiping right or left on apps such as Tinder or Hinge. Another example is belongingness in technology is social media which allows people to connect around the world.
- Esteem Needs
When it comes to self-esteem technology has really made it so that you can express yourself how you want with no boundaries. What comes to mind first is applications such as YouTube, Rumble, or Kick. Within these websites, a person can stream or post videos to their liking. Also by posting or streaming you can always get constant feedback or become successful future one’s self-esteem.
- Self-Actualization Needs
Self-actualization and technology relate in regards to the advancement of education online. For example, Khan Academy is a free online school program that offers free classes on a variety of subjects from programming to history. Another application is better help which provides a concealer or psychologist who can help you through various mental issues.
