The five most serious violations in my opinion are bullying and trolling, faking your identity, sharing information, collecting information regarding children, and using other people’s internet. I would say that bullying and trolling are a violation as it breaks many cyberbullying laws as well as can cause people to commit self-harm and even suicide just due to a mean comment. Faking one’s identity online is essentially fraud and lying about your age can lessen the privacy of minors. Sharing information such as addresses passwords and photos of others without their consent can cause extreme harm to the person causing things such as harassment and overall danger. Collecting information about children can cause a violation of the Children Online Protection Act which is breaking the law and is overall unethical. Using a person’s internet without their consent is stealing and is dangerous for the person who is stealing it creating privacy concerns or identity theft.
