In my TalkAbroad conversation, I met a woman named Emna Ben Othmen from Tunisia, Africa. She was very pleasant, and I had a great time talking to her. She is 35 years old, and she is considering starting a business. She talked to me about the ravishing cuisine found in Tunisia and I was happy to be enlightened by her culture a bit.

Overall, I felt like there was a lot more that I could have done with this conversation. Although there were some parts where I felt like it went smoothly, I, for the most past, felt as though I was very robotic throughout the dialogue. I tried not to rely on the rubric too much, but I did refer back to a bit during the session. I wish that it would have felt like more of a natural conversation that flowed, but I felt like my partner carried the majority of the conversation. I kept saying “et vous” continuously and I did not practice asking questions enough. However, I do think that my responses to Emma’s questions were fairly solid, and I felt like my pace at times was decent. My pronunciations of the vocabulary were good, but I feel like I could have utilized the vocabulary a lot more.
