Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

I am interested in cybersecurity technology for many reasons. First off, I spend a lot of my time in front of a device, whether it be a tv, phone, computer, etc. We are living in a digital world, and it is only advancing. Knowing how much we, a society, rely on technology, the security of such things becomes crucial. I feel that the best way to protect my digital trail and usage is to become knowledgeable on how to do it myself. More over, I want to ensure that anyone can be protected in the cyber usage. No one should be afraid of their personal information being leaked or stolen. There are many cyber criminals out there searching and waiting for opportunities to take advantage of others. It is things like this that have pushed my interest in pursing a cybersecurity field. I want to have a safe space on my devices, worry free, the same as I would want for my friends and family.

I have always thought of the question, “how can I make a true impact on the world”? Yet, I had never really had an answer. Although, now I feel that I have found that means. Being able to aid in providing a safe and growing technological environment is a major way to give back and make an impact. As we grow more and more reliant on technology and media, it is imperative that it has the proper security and safeguards against those who look to take advantage and sabotage growth.

One field I am heavily interested in is iCloud security. Keeping all important and sensitive information in the cloud is something a lot of people turn to. In turn, this makes an individual’s iCloud account a target. It stores passwords, banking and credit information, and so much more. This is the area that I would like to be protecting and reinforcing. Coming into the cybersecurity field is intimidating, but it is a challenge that I see myself excelling in and taking on head first!
